Rumorville – Someone Major Will Die In ‘Thor: The Dark World’

Suck this one down with a spoonful of salt – there are no validated sources to confirm anything – but according to Bleeding Cool, a major character will be killed in Marvel Studios’ Thor: The Dark World.

I don’t think this counts as a spoiler.  If you’re an avid movie watcher, then you already assume that when it comes to franchise sequels – you’re gonna have to deal with the probability of characters you like getting knocked off.

In case you still get itchy when it comes to spoilers, let me warn you:

POSSIBLE SPOILERS BELOW…

Who is the to-be-killed character?

We don’t know – but at least one “source” claims that it’s Odin.  Again this is a completely unsubstantiated rumor.

I think it’s kind of assumed that Odin will die in this one. It’s a huge thing for Thor to deal with and they’re totally going to do it. You can see it coming from a mile away.

I really think Loki is gonna die in this movie, there have been rumors about his redemption and my guess is that he will die as a hero

Thor died in the last one….and then came back to life! And Odin can’t die anyway – he’s the king of the Gods! Still in Marvel land anything’s possible!

Odin has “died” at least a dozen times since I started reading Thor in the 80′s in the words of Arnold “I’ll be back”

If my 1960′s memory is correct, didn’t Jane Foster buy it at least once?

Hopkins has said that he only did the first one as a favour to Kenneth Branaugh. he found the role alot of work at his age, I’m frankly surprised he even came back for this one so him wanting out of the franchise isn’t too shocking. But id rather a death then a recast.
