New Photo Of John McClane Jr and Sr from ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’

Entertainment Weekly has a new pic from A Good Day to Die Hard, which you can see below.

The photo features Bruce Willis as John McClane and Jai Courtney as John McClane, Jr, or Jack, as he prefers for be called.

This time around the action is set in Russia with the McClanes running afoul of some… Russians I guess?

Here’s Courtney on the film:

“That’s the thing about the Die Hard franchise, John’s always a fish out of water. What could be further out of water for him than Russia?”

Seeing as how McClane didn’t have the best relationship with his wife Holly or his daughter Lucy, I’m guessing you’ll flip the script this time and have John actually get along with his son? Oh, you won’t? Okay.

“The relationship isn’t always functional. These are two guys who have been estranged for some time. John likes to wing it, see what happens. Jack’s more of a strategist.”

What about the villains, Jai?

“I can’t say much about the villains without giving it away.“

so in die hard 4 he fights for his daughter. in die hard 5 he fights with his son. in die hard 6 we will see holly genaro i guess as the villain. john did f’ed up her life.revenge is coming,mark my words

My main gripe is that John McClane has turned into Bruce Willis….Let me expand on this…in the first two movies he looked like a beat cop in civvies…no leather jacket, no open shirts etc…nowadays, he looks like he had some sort of style consultant come in and make him have some sort of ensemble…John McClane used to look like an everyguy…now he looks like Bruce Willis fashioned to play a version of a character that was called John McClane.

I agree. Somewhere between the 3rd and 4th movie John McClane disappeared. Are they grooming Jai Courtney to take over the franchise? I think it’s time to put this to bed.

It was DieHard in 1, it was DieHard in 2. Hell it was EXTREMLY DieHard in Vengeance. What it was missing in 4? He wasn’t an ‘everyman’. They turned him into some sort of big super action hero. I get he still did stuff in the others but he seemed like a man thrown into abnormal circumstances… this sounds like its more in line with 4 so far :(
