‘Gears of War’ Adaptation Still Happening, Project Seeking New Studio

There’s another video game movie adaptation in the works. This time it’ll be Gears of War, based on the space marine series that began in 2006.

In 2007, New Line began developing Gears of War, but then put in on hold. The project has since found new representation at Creative Artists Agency, where meetings are being held to set up the project at another studio.

It was previously reported that producer/director Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard, Total Recall) was once attached to helm the script by Stuart Beattie (Collateral, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra), but that all fell through. It’s very likely that both Wiseman and Beattie will be replaced, especially since the project is looking for a new home.

    poorly drawn ugly characters. typicaly western dev character styles. big lone soldier saves the world. thats about every western game out there. it so sad.
