Bryan Singer is returning to the X-Men franchise. He has just been announced as the director of X-Men: Days Of Future Past, the next installment in the superhero franchise.
Initially, Matthew Vaughn was said to be the one who would direct the sequel to the spinoff, but he pulled out. Instead he’ll be producing, along with writer Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner.
Singer directed and wrote 2000′s X-Men, and 2003′s X2. He also produced and wrote the script for 2011′s X-Men: First Class. Singer is the one who launched this franchise, so it’s nice to see him return to the director’s chair once again.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to be released on July 18, 2014. Singer’s next film is Jack The Giant Slayer, which stars Nicholas Hoult, Elenor Tomlinson and Stanley Tucci. The film is scheduled to be released on March 1, 2013.
