Looks like all of the violence and gore (x100) of the original, with none of the humour.

Looked so-so to me. Just cleaner and brighter, which is the opposite of the original.

Crap, I’m dying to see this but I’m not old enough, can someone describe it for me or let me use their birth date so I can see it?

  • Jesus_Slade

One thing I loved about Evil Dead 2 is I got some laughs out of it!
This looks all nice and shiny with some classic scenes, but I hope it’s not just a gore fest!

  • longcipher

    Thanks for the laugh.

  • rsixsmith

yeah, one of the great things about the first two was that the demon/s had a wicked sense of humor and even utilized slapstick to horrific effect- rami was good even then with that sort of thing. although the branch rape pretty much startled all the laughs out of me for the rest of the movie. from the looks of it, it hasn’t been left out.

  • myclawismypenis

Not enough to make a decesion on it yet.

Actually looking forward to it :)

  • Jesus_Slade

If they are going to mash the first two movies together i suppose the tree rape is one of those WTF! moments everyone remembers!
I was actually glad that scene wasn’t in ED2.
    They got my cash already,
Good or bad, it’s a blast from the past I’m looking forward to!

I hope this remake worth the ticket!!!

  • myclawismypenis

so is the sequel going to be a comedy?

  • http://www.facebook.com/StephenMCroft Steve Croft

What original are you talking about? EVIL DEAD the original had zero humour in it. It was a straight up serious horror. Part 2 had a three stooges vibe to it, not part 1.

Bruce produced it so Jacks still there :P

“and even utilized slapstick to horrific effect”

WTF are you people ON about? Did you SEE part 1?????? No they DIDNT. That was PART TWO. DEAD BY DAWN. Come the fuck off it. Jesus.

I have read soo many comments saying how it does not have humor. You are correct there was no humor in the first part at all. It was nothing but gore. Anyways, this one looks like it’s going to be a good remake from the original.

  • rsixsmith

okay, you’re right the first was LESS funny, but there were lots of laughs- even if they weren’t intentional. maybe i was just too cynical even when i was 12. and the second was essentially a remake of the first, even if a lot of logical gymnastics somehow gets you to a place where it’s not. and slapstick was an OBVIOUS influence in that movie. don’t get so worked up over it, they’re just silly horror movies. i’m sure anyone bothering to post here is going to go see this.

  • rsixsmith

    here here!

  • Jesus_Slade

Dude if you didn’t get a laugh out of ED2 (what my comment was about) you need some sort of transplant!
Thats what made it a classic!
Come the fuck off it. Steve.

  • myclawismypenis

Ill see it with hopes that somehow this will tie into the series with a cameo by Bruce, nothing wrong with another sequel involving the mighty Bruce…

THE HUMOR DID NOT START TIL THE SECOND MOVIE.

  • Legion666

Dude its just a movie thats going to be awesome so if you wont to see it see i movie never killed any body regardless what those tree hugging no spine hippies might think, (spineless worms all of them)

To those who say the remake is going to suck i ask you this would you like to see our most awesome hero ash fat old and gray headed i for one don’t wont to see that campbell is to old for the part it and who could play ash besides bruce campbell no one they might find some one to look the part but the voice the attitude just wouldn’t be the same. I have know illusions its not going to be as good as the original but i think it looks “GROOVY”

  • Legion666

    RIGHT

  • Legion666

I feel you the first one was not funny just had bad acting then again it was pretty low budget so i think they did damn good
