Female ‘Expendables’ Adds Katee Sackhoff To Tough Chick Cast

The untitled, all-female version of The Expendables is shaping up, with Battlestar Galactica star Katee Sackhoff joining the cast.

The cast already includes Gina Carano, and other potential names like Michelle Rodriguez and Milla Jovovich.

Adi Shankar (1984 Private Defense Contractors) produces, and Dutch Southern (Hoof Harrington’s Greatest Hits) will write the script.

Shankar says:

“If you spend five minutes with Katee it becomes blatantly obvious that she would pwn (sic) most male action stars.”

This is such a lame idea. I think there needs to be an ounce of realism pumped into this stupid attempt at gender balancing.

What made “The Expendables” great was the fact that most of the cast was made up of *classic* male action stars. Guys who made so many action movies that to see them all in the same action movie would be that much better. So why are they making a female “Expendables” using relatively young females actors who have no real legacy comparable to that of Arnold, Willis, Stallone, or JCVD?
