Bryan Singer Comments on the Costumes for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

I remember way back in the days of old when Bryan Singer was filming X-Men and it was announced the team of mutants would be wearing more modern, black leather costumes instead of the colorful outfits they donned in the comics.

Wow, we’re people pissed.

But guess what? It looked better on film and it worked better in the world Singer created.

Now that Fox made the smart move and courted Singer back to the franchise he started for X-Men: Days of Future Past, will we be getting more black leather? Here’s Singer’s answer in tweet form:

So what will the X-Men be wearing? I’m guessing something slightly revamped but similar to what we saw in X-Men: First Class.

Are you happy Singer is back? I definitely am. I’ve made no secret that X2 is my favorite X-Men film, and one of my favorite superhero films of all time.

I just wanna see Wolverine in his classic costume put on film. To me, he is Wolverine in costume and Logan out of costume. First class gave us a great Magneto outfit.
I’m sure they can write an excuse for it, after all, when we first see x men 1, Wolverine is a cage fighter, that was the missed opportunity to have given him a costume to hide his identity etc.. Or even as an anti-magnetic material to fend off Magneto.

And to those that previously said that his yellow costume would look silly….. Must have slept to all the Xmen movies!
