Two big franchises are looking to cast significant supporting roles got the next films in their respective series.
First up, The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
Director Marc Webb is looking to cast the new Harry Osborne. Originally the part called for a muscular jock type of guy, but now they’re looking for someone a little more “dark and edgy”.
The names mentioned so far are Melancholia‘s Brady Corbet
Chronicle‘s Dane DeHaan
and Alden Ehrenreich
Who do you think can replace James Franco? I always preferred Franco’s performance as Osbourne to Maquire’s as Peter Parker. I think Franco’s a more natural actor and as a character Harry had more time to build up to his ultimate conclusion.
Thanks to LR reader Dan Cordwell for head on this, and for the pics.
Next up is Transformers 4.
Michael Bay has already cast Mark Wahlberg as his male lead, but he still needs two high school students for his female lead and second male lead.
The young women up for the girl, who is the daughter of Wahlberg’s character, are: Abbie Cornish’s little sister Isabelle, Nicola Peltz perhaps best known for M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender, Andie MacDowell’s daughter Margaret Quallay and Gabriella Wilde from the Carrie remake.
The dudes in line for the boyfriend are: Luke Grimes from Taken 2, Terra Nova‘s Landon Liboiron, Australian actor Brenton Thwaites, newcomer Jack Reynor and Weeds co-star Hunter Parrish.
Who would like to see in these supporting roles?
