‘Book Of Mormon’s’ Josh Gad To Co-Write ‘Twins’ Sequel

There’s a sequel to 1988′s Twins in the works, and the plan is to have Eddie Murphy join Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as their surprise third brother.  The film is tentatively titled Triplets.

Sounds like an SNL sketch from the early 90s, but it’s not.  The movie is a go, and it’s being written by an unlikely source.

Josh Gad, perpetual fat guy sidekick in movies and star of the uber-successful Broadway musical The Book of Mormon, has been hired to co-write the script for Triplets with Ryan Dixon (he’s the head of a screenwriting service called ScriptShark).

If this were 1989/1990, this might just work.  But Eddie Murphy has been phoning it in for too long for most people to care, I think.

Eddie has been playing the Donkey from Shrek for too long. Every time I see him that ridiculously over the top Donkey voice always infiltrates his character.

What am I missing here? What does Eddy Murphy have to do with Twins?

It’s funny cause he’s got brown skin and danny and arnold have white. You don’t even need a script when you have a hook like that
