Now here’s something we can get behind: the awesome Tom Hiddleston has said that he would consider a role in the next Star Wars movie.
During an interview with Digital Spy, the actor was asked if he would be interested in a role in Star Wars: Episode VII, to which he replied, “Absolutely.” But it would depend on the story and the character (duh!). He also mentioned that he grew up loving the first three films.
“I’m a huge fan, especially of the first three, because I grew up watching Star Wars: A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, and Return of the Jedi. So, absolutely, yeah.”
And you never know, it could happen. After all, Hiddleston does have somewhat of an advantage. He’s worked with Kathleen Kennedy, the president of Lucasfilm and brand manager of the Star Wars and Indiana Jones frachise, before on Steven Spielberg’s War Horse.
Hiddleston, who plays Loki in Disney’s Marvel movie series, did mention that maybe people would associate him too closely with the supervillain, so that might hurt his chances (in theory).
Hiddleston has a pretty sweet deal with Disney already. He gets to be Loki, and is absolutely fantastic in the role. We could so picture him as a Star Wars villain though. Couldn’t you?
