‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ is in the midst of pre-production, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, four young male actors were all tested for the role of Harry Osborn on Monday.
Harry Osborn is the son of Norman Osborn (Green Goblin), and becomes Peter Parker’s BFF and eventual arch-nemesis (Green Goblin, Jr. — or so I wish was his official bad guy moniker).
The actors up for the role: Sam Claflin (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Snow White & the Huntsman), Eddie Redmayne, My Week With Marilyn and Les Miserables), Douglas Booth (LOL and Noah), and Boyd Holbrook (The Big C, Hatfields & McCoys, and The Host).
Each one of these actors is a no-name, which may be the best route to go for the character. I think what would be a mistake is to try and get someone who’s a James Franco-lite.
