With Star Wars number seven in the works, is there any hope that the original cast will reunite on screen for their fourth outing?
One of the series original stars, Mark Hamill who played the iconic Luke Skywalker, offers some thoughts on potential casting. Hamill, while speaking on behalf of Carrie Fisher, seems rather pensive because of how there is no hint of a story, saying:
“We have questions about it. And really, they’re not even at the stage where they’re able to answer those questions because, as far as I know, is there a story yet?”
It will all depend on what writer Michael Arndt can cook up for this new series and what will ultimately influence this Oscar winner.
Hamill does find his time making the first trilogy of the franchise as a pleasant experience, giving praise to George Lucas and co-stars Fisher and Harrison Ford.
Even though there’s a possibility of his return, Hamill prefers to let the new creative team do the talking and make the best possible decisions for the set of films. Given his age, he doesn’t mind if they use another actor to play him in future installments saying:
“They would get an age-appropriate actor. There’s so many good people.”
