Hailee Steinfeld’s Oscar-nominated performance in True Grit signaled a rich and exciting future for the young actress.
That’s why it’s a little dispiriting to hear that she’s going to be part of a project in which, frankly, she’s the most talented one in the lot by far.
Steinfeld has signed on to star alongside Kevin Costner in an action-thriller temporarily-titled Three Days to Kill, written & produced by Luc Besson and directed by McG.
Deadline describes the film’s plot:
“Costner as a Service agent who discovers he’s dying. Before he goes, he attempts to complete a final mission, and reconnect with his estranged daughter [Steinfeld]. He’s also taking an experimental drug that could prolong his life, and that adds complexity to the ticking clock because of the drug’s hallucinatory side effects.”
Steinfeld is only 16! She has plenty of time to look back in shame at the fact she went from the Coen brothers to… McG.
