‘Man of Steel’ Gets A New Poster

Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new poster for Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel” starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

Snyder directed the film from a screenplay written by David S. Goyer.

The new poster features Superman being taken away in handcuffs as if can’t break free from those…come on now.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Oh wow, they took a still image from the comic con trailer, blew it up and called it a poster. Nothing special about this poster, because we know superman is playing the boy scout role by letting the military take him in. He could easily have broke out of those cuffs or flown away. I guess he wants to show them, he’s the good guy.

man I really hope they do this superman movie right. last thing i want is a “nolan” eqsue real world superman that can be easiy hurt. I want this new superman to be, well SUPER!.

I like what I’m seeing in this poster but I don’t like the decision to release this as a poster at all. Superman constantly struggles to find his place in the world. He’s not from this planet, he goes way out on a limb to save people who constantly hurt each other and sometimes hate him for his efforts. Of course he can break out of those cuffs and vaporize those SWAT guys with a single punch but he’s Superman so he won’t. I guess we’ll see Superman on trial for something in this movie which is a good way of showing that side of his character. I mean, he possesses more destructive firepower than any nation on earth and he zips around the globe unchecked. Too powerful for any military to stop, if he went bad it would be the end. Again, this is an awesome concept which comes up in the comics but it makes for kind of a lame poster.
