The Marvel Movie Machine is unstoppable. Besides the hallmarks of great action and snappy banter, there are also the much-loved cameos. The thread that ties all these films, Samuel L Jackson, will next appear in “Captain America: Winter Soldier.”
The bombastic Jackson has been the reason the Avengers have gotten together With Captain America’s new flick, their roles will be entwined much more closely. The role of soldier and master spy seem to fit much more closely than with any of the other fantastic characters as Jackson goes on to say he will not be hanging around with Thor or Iron Man.
Jackson says: “I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.” This quote suggests that the new Iron Man movie will be more personal in tone.
The Captain’s newest release will continue his reemergence into the world and include Scarlet Johansson’s Black Widow as well as the Winter Soldier played by Sebastian Stan. Winter Soldier, who was formerly Bucky Barnes, will now be a threat instead of Cap’s partner. The titular hero will not be alone combating his former comrade as he will be assisted by the Falcon’s first cinematic appearance, played by the underrated Anthony Mackie. With all this casting, it remains uncertain as to who will play the villain this time around.
With the efficiency these Marvel movies have been churned out, albeit in comparison with DC’s, the project will be running quite smoothly. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is planned for an April 2014 release.
