It looks like we’re only a few years away from another Terminator movie hitting theaters.
Megan Ellison and her brother David Ellison have both picked up the rights to the sci-fi franchise through their own production arms: Annapurna Pictures and Skydance Productions, respectively.
They’re set to produce two new Terminator movies before 2019, when the North American rights to the characters revert back to creator James Cameron.
Arnold Schwarzenegger and director Justin Lin were originally attached to a new film, but apparently those plans have been scrapped.
The legal rights surrounding this franchise have been nothing short of migraine-inducing. It seems like the franchise has been sold off from studio to production company back to studio like a cursed item in a demented auction house.
