Entertainment Weekly has your first look at Ender’s Game, which you can see below. The pic features Asa Butterfield as Ender at the Battle School being looked down upon by Colonel Graff (Harrison Ford).
Gavin Hood (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) is directing and had this to say about his actors:
“The relationship between [Harrison] and Asa was very close, but he didn’t overly befriend him off the set. He helped Asa by allowing that slight sense of intimidation to be there.
“The kids have to attend school for at least three hours of class every day, plus do homework, so you can only shoot with someone like Asa for five hours of your day. There was no time for fooling about or not knowing your lines or being unprepared.”
In addition to directing, Hood also adapted the script from Orson Scott Card’s classic sci-fi novel. If you haven’t read the book, do yourself a favor and seek it out.
Ender’s Game hits theatres November 1, 2013.
