Jackson Excited to Possibly Return to ‘Star Wars’

With all the swarming of talent and possible ideas, a galaxy far, far away seems like quite the crowded place. Directors, old cast, new cast, anything is a go. But it seems that the Jedi Knight with the “bad mofo” wallet is speaking his mind on potential casting.

Samuel L. Jackson, who played the popular Mac Windu character, did not mince words when asked if he would like to reprise his role: “Hell Yeah!”

For those who have not seen the final film of the Star Wars prequel, Windu dies at the hands of the Emperor, Palpatine. Jackson would not mind if his character, who took to the afterlife, came back as a ghost: “I could do that or be a ghost hologram. I don’t care,” says Jackson, “I just want to stay associated with the franchise. Not that I won’t because I’ve been in three of them.”

But his main hope is that the purple-saber carrying Windu, in the post-Jedi massacre, somehow survives to fight another day. Jackson says: “It’s like, okay, Obi-Wan was dead when episode four started, so maybe everyone thinks I’m dead and we’ll find out what happened to Mace Windu. I can come back as one-armed or a one-handed Jedi that’s still around that didn’t actually die.”

“I just always loved it,” Jackson says of his appreciation for the films, “I always loved the idea of it, that there’s this whole civilization out there somewhere else that’s just as much fun and different and diverse and wild as we are.”

This has been the weekly update for Star Wars news; there will be plenty of people who would like to get a hand on this hot commodity, more will be coming soon. The next installment of Star Wars is planning to be launched in 2015.

it would be cool, especially since such a badass jedi was wasted on crappy plots and dialogue.

It could happen if he was in hiding all those years, but then, wouldn’t he have to be much, much older?

Hmm, Personally, as much I like SLJ I wanna see Star Wars as unlinked to the prequels as possible. Time to continue where the OT left off, the prequels though I don’t hate them (mostly) just don’t even seem connected to the star wars universe that I fell in love with. Time to start afresh, with the serious tone established by ANH & ESB. ROTJ i love but it was possibly the first step into a prequel style. Yoda as a puppet was a gamble that payed off brilliantly. Jabba also worked incredibly as did the Rancor etc.. Ewoks, though i love em still, were foreshadowing of things like Gungans and the miriad of other horrendous characters in the prequels.

One thing i think all SW fans should do, is make a petition to disney to keep with the puppets and real sets over cgi overdose.

re: Mace in ep 7 however, I guess as a force ghost he would not age. So it is possible.

ps.. Theres bigger scoops I read about today about Star Wars… rumors though but allegedly from a good source…

1, There will be TWO trilogies.
2, Ep 7 may be called A NEW DAWN,
3, Luke will be a main character focus,
4, the first trilogy will be with the main cast, second will focus on their kids including a daughter of Skywalker.
    5,
Some directors that said they won’t be directing ep 7, ie Spielberg, Cuaron etc.. may still get to direct one of them.
6, It will be more in vein of the OT films. And the Empire remnants will be in it.
7, The live action tv series is still all go.
8, Corey Feldman has been trying to get a role as Hans son. (he alledgedly looks like Harrison Ford) in his own words.

These are just what I read today, forgot the website though. And note, still a rumor.

Number 4 doesn’t surprise me if it were true. George has been saying for years how he wants to make a female hero character like Indy and Luke. George wanted Natalie Portman to be Indy’s Daughter in the last Indy movie but Steven wanted a Son and for that Jewish kid to play the part.

    Yes.

I won’t be watching them if he’s in it. He was terrible. A terrible Jedi. He was aggressive all the way through which is not suppose to be a jedi trait.
Christ he only got put in cause he campaigned himself so much to Lucas that he wrote a new character for him.
Along with the youngest f the anakins and the obi wan acting in Episode one he was one of the worst things about the trilogy in my eyes.
