It has been revealed that Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. will hit TV next fall on ABC. Jeph Loeb, the head of Marvel TV, revealed the big news, so this isn’t just hearsay. It’s real!
Loeb told PREVIEWSworld:
“Well…we have a ‘little’ pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D. co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!”
According to MTV, Joss Whedon is directing the pilot, and the show’s cast continues to grow. Thus far, the S.H.I.E.L.D. cast includes Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson, Ming-Na as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons and Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz. The pilot will shoot in early 2013.
