It seems to be a central tenet in life when the student becomes the master and more likely the next step is that of teacher. This is the type of cycle one sees in samurai fare, the same type of material that has been an influence on the Star Wars saga.
According to the prominent news-gathering institution Reuters, it seems Luke Skywalker will be settling down on Yavin 4 to build his own space academy for the youngest of future Jedi. If this is true, it might be possible to bring back the original Luke and it would be very interesting if it is one of Luke’s own students that turn against him.
The story from Reuters says;
“Yavin 4 and the rebel base return to the Star Wars plot in the forthcoming Episode VII, announced in October by the Walt Disney Co, in which Skywalker comes back to the planet to build a Jedi knight academy.”
This new connection to the much-beloved space franchise has come under some scrutiny from fans on the internet. It is possible that the story in question might have benn confused with the literary extensions of the space saga where indeed Luke does build the academy.
Without the approval of Disney and the apparent reluctance of creator George Lucas to accept the novels as part of the continuity, it remains to be seen how these elements become set to a cohesive whole. Though only scraps of rumor persist, the next installment of the eon-long waited entry is slated to arrive 2015.
