We haven’t heard much from the RoboCop remake coming in February 2014, at lest not since some less than positive script reviews surfaced. Now, however, we do have some new pics from the flick, which you can see right here.

I’m in the camp that doesn’t really like the new suit, but I’m not going to totally condemn it until I see it in action.

    I still don’t get why he has to have one human hand. In the original, didn’t the OCP engineers decide against salvaging body parts explicitly because it would be a physical liability? I’m guessing it’s just there so they could write in a bullshit moment like some precocious child touching his hand and he suddenly remembers his human life.

    I’ll still have to wait on my judgement till I see a trailer. But my gut is telling me it’s going to be doo doo. But no matter what, it’s going to bomb, like Total Recall. The remake thing is played out, if only Hollywood got the hint.

    They’ve stated in script reviews and interviews that in this version OCP decides to keep the human hand (for some bullsh%$t reason) and it’s supposed to be a major plot point in the story.

    That’s not true.

    He retains the human hand in this version of Robocop and even concept sketches and storyboards that have been leaked and released confirm this.
    They made a deliberate point of stating this even in interviews and in a script review.

    He looks like the Armored Version of Batman in Arkham City plus i heard this crap is going to be PG-13 no one is getting the balls blown off like in the original!

    Just look at the total recall remake. What a piece of crap. What’s next? A starship troopers movie where no one gets their brains sucked out by a bug, no flying limbs?? Veerhoven cannot be remade. Half the reason people love his movies is because they have balls, which Hollywood just does not allow anymore.

    The original Robocop is a classic and still looks great. This new suit looks like cheap plastic. Film-makers have become lazy with CGI. I’m not sure if this new suit will be supplemented with CGI, but it looks flimsy and generic.
