So while Sundance is going on, is anything poppin’ over at Slamdance? Well, yes there is! Let me tell you about a found footage horror comedy called Ghost Team One.

What caught my attention is that the film has two Latin leads.  For once, a movie with Latinos at a film festival that doesn’t involve overplayed corny immigration themes. So having some pull, I got in touch with the filmmakers, they let me peep the movie, and what a hoot it was! The movie was both raunchy and funny as all hell! If you can catch it at Slamdance, I highly recommend that you do. With Haunted House making bookoo dollars this past weekend, I’m pretty sure that Ghost Team One will have buyers foaming at the mouth to make bids.

Starring Carlos Santos, J.R. Villarreal, the smoking hot Fernanda Romero and Tony Cavalero, the film is directed by Scott Rutheford and Ben Peyser.

The synopsis is as follows:

In order to impress a girl, two roommates set out to make a documentary about a murder that took place in their house decades ago.  The girl thinks that the victim’s ghost still resides there, and the two guys think that making a movie with her will get them laid.  But after setting cameras up around the house, the legitimately supernatural occurrences that follow make it apparent that the ghost is not only real, but that she’s a vengeful Vietnamese madame from the 1930’s that’s become smitten with our guys.  A subversive, comedic take on the found footage genre.
 ‘Paranormal Activity’ meets ‘Harold and Kumar’.

The best scene in the movie involves, let’s say, some paranormal sexual kinkiness that happens to one of two leads. It’s something Kevin Smith would come up with if he made a found footage horror comedy.
