Entourage is pulling a Sex and the City. Warner Bros. has just given the green light on a movie version of the successful HBO series that ran from 2004-2011.
Series creator Doug Ellin will direct the film. He also wrote the screenplay, which he finished last September. Word is that deals have already started, specifically with Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jemy Ferrara and Jeremy Piven. The film will also include Emmanuelle Chriqui, Scott Caan, Rhys Coiro, Beveryly D’Angelo and a bunch of real Hollywood stars, who will be playing themselves so expect lots of cameos! (By the way, who would you want to see?)
The film will pick up six months after the end of the series. In the finale, Ari gave up his career for his wife (played by Perry Reeves), only to get a last minute phone call offering him his dream job of running a film studio. We’ll probably be seeing Ari wifeless, but hey, at least he’ll have a lot of power in Hollywood right?
It seems like the studio is moving pretty fast. HBO was also the home of SATC, and those movies made a ton of money. We wouldn’t be surprised if the studio slaps a 2013 release date on this one.
But that’s not all cool kids!
