Tom Hardy has quietly ascended the Hollywood hierarchy and has definitely become a star. He got his first taste of mainstream celebrity through Christopher Nolan’s “Inception” as a wily, charming dream impersonator. He was also Bane in “The Dark Knight Rises” which has given him the opportunity to work in more roles. After Batman, Hardy will start with a “Tabula Rasa” of sorts and work on a smaller film.
One of Hardy’s next projects will be the thriller “Locke.” The narrative follows family man Ivan Locke who has the ideal life until trouble rears its head. One fateful phone call put in danger all that he has worked for.
Hardy will soon be featured as Mad Max in “Fury Road” and it has been rumored that he will star in the biographical “Everest” which will focus on British climber George Mallory.
The screenplay will be written by Steven Knight who was Oscar nominated for his work on “Dirty Pretty Things.” His latest is “Hummingbird” which should be released some time this year.
It remains to be seen when production will start and when one can expect a release date.
