‘The Justice League’ May Be Looking for A New Writer

Badass Digest is reporting that The Justice League film may be looking for a new writer.

Warner Brothers hired Will Beall (Gangster Squad, Castle) to write the first draft of the script.

The big problem?

Rumor has it Beall’s script sucks and the film is in danger of collapsing. As of now Warner seems unwilling to give up, but that could change if Man of Steel under performs.

So what are the Brothers Warner to do with a crap script? Trash it and start over, which means they have to find a new writer. Oh, and there’s still no director attached.

That 2015 release is looking less and less likely.

Warner Bros. should really give serious thought to a Brave and the Bold type movie that involves Batman and Green Lantern. You can get a reboot of both characters for the price of one, a Christmas movie that will make millions during the holiday season, and you steer clear of Marvel’s primetime line-up in the Summer months until they get their house in order.

My only stipulation is that it has to be the John Stewart Green Lantern in order to put even more distance from the Van Wilder GL.

Bring back Mark Strong as Sinestro and introduce the rest of the world to Jason Blood and Etrigan the Demon. The transformation scenes from Blood to The Demon would rival Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Anson Mount as the Dark Knight and Nate Parker as John Stewart, bring in Bruce Timm to executive produce and/or direct and WB will have a Christmas 2014 film that fans will salivate over.

Its kinda baffling when i hear that people turn in such a POS when there are tons of stories that can be turned into possible movies…dark knight trilogy borrowed heavily from frank miller’s batman year one and dark knight returns…it would seem that someone needs to get a clue.

The only way to do this film is to do it WITHOUT DARKSEID – save him for JL3.

Here are better alternatives:

1) The Blackest Night Saga: where Black Lanterns resurrects the GALAXY’S DEAD. So then this galactic event brings the JL together. You can then make this movie a JL reboot in the process…with darker overtones (and maybe even Tae Diggs or someone as Jon Stewart?).

2) Panic in the Sky: have Brainiac bottle up Wonder Woman’s home world in the beginning before he makes his way to Earth. GLs were en-route to help, but it was too late, and all they could do was rescue Wonder Woman and maybe someone else, but that’s it. So they all go to Earth to stop it. Think of it as Independence Day with super-heroes.

3) Doomsday: he tore a path across America and steamrolled the JL in his debut, concluding with him taking out Superman for several months. You do this and MoS II can be about his return, further development of the JL and possible cloning (Lex II anyone?).

And yes, GOYER was the brains behind the Batman Trilogy. Nolan hired him for BB because he was familiar with his work on another obscure property that kickstarted the now Marvel cinematic universe: Blade.

He needs to be at least a producer in this film.

Well, i prefer a World´s Finest movie. The people just care about Superman and Batman and a movie about these two would be better than a JL movie.

PAUL DINI !!! Like everyone has said. Get him to write it and get an A-list director on it. I wouldn’t mind seeing Zack Synder do it since he can handle big epic movies…Watchmen, 300…and the upcoming MAN OF STEEL. Robert Zemekis would be great as well…if not…why can’t it be directed by 2 directors ? I know I may get slammed for this, but give the action scenes only to Micheal Bay and have another director handle the actors/story beats of the film.

That might be the smarter approach. Build it up from two or three great heroes meeting in the first movie, and over the course of several sequels keep adding until you have a solid enough group to take on a big enough world threat where they can call themselves the Justice League. Why WB doesn’t get this is beyond me.

phase 3 = 10 movies: (1) Aquaman, (2) Martian Manhunter, (3) Green Arrow + Black Canary, (4) Hawkman + Hawkgirl + Hawkfriends, (5) The Atom, (6) Blue Beetle + Booster Gold buddy movie, (7) Rocket Red, (8) Power Girl (hard-R rating), (9) Elongated Man vs. Plastic Man with the winner joining the Justice League of America in the 10th movie in a battle to save America from Starro, Bizarro, Sinestro and Lex Luthoro.
