Hugh Laurie has entered negotiations to play the villain in Tomorrowland, a top secret Disney project being directed by Brad Bird. George Clooney is already set to star.
According to THR, the plot of the movie project, which until a couple of weeks ago was being called 1952, is under lock and key, but has been described as “being in the vein of Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg’s 1978 movie about a man searching for extra-terrestrials on Earth.”
Laurie would play the part of the villain. The script was written by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof and Jeff Jensen, an editor at Entertainment Weekly.
This could be the film that finally launches Laurie’s big screen career. He deserves it after playing Doctor on House for eight years, don’t you think?
