According to Deadline, Relativity Media will co-finance and domestically distribute “Brick Mansions,” the U.S. remake of French action hit “Banlieue 13″ (aka. “District B13″).
The film will star Paul Walker, and it will be directed by Camille Delamarre from a screenplay written by Luc Besson and his “Taken” co-scribe Robert Mark Kamen.
Walker will star with David Belle, who starred in the original and the sequel “District 13: Ultimatum.” Belle starred in the original and invented the sport of parkour which is used heavily throughout it and its sequel.
The film will be set in America. Walker will play an undercover detective chasing a weapon of mass destruction that was stolen by a drug dealer in the ghetto known as Brick Mansions. He seeks help from the incredibly agile Lino (Belle), who knows Brick Mansions better than anyone and is the only person not cowed by the drug dealers.
