‘Lobo’ is a No Go

Dwayne Johnson is out pimping Snitch, one of the six (!) movies he has coming out this year. While he was talking to MTV, he dropped some knowledge on the status of the Lobo movie he was attached to star in.

Is this good or bad? You tell me.

When I originally posted about this film happening with Johnson the comments seemed a bit split. Most agreed Johnson had the physical presence for the part, but felt the filmmakers wouldn’t have the cojones to capture the true Lobo on screen.

Brad Peyton (Journey 2) was set to direct and write the flick. There’s no word on whether the film is canceled or if production will move forward without Johnson.

What do you think? Should they move forward without Johnson or just scarp the film altogether?

    This was such a fracking idiotic idea from the start. These bozos can’t get the basics right (Green Lantern), so how do they expect to tackle 2nd tier characters?

    Warner Bros just can’t seem to get out of their own way with their DC properties. They really should set up a DC Comics Movie Studio like Marvel has done and staff it with people who work for DC and really care about the characters and brands. I understand Warners wanting to make money but they should realize if they take their time and make the DC movies right not only will they make as much money as a quick turnaround film but they’ll make even more money with DVD and Sequels.

    This comes as no surprise. Warner’s only cares about Superman and Batman. D.C. should go to other movie studios and try there luck with them. Only until Warner’s decides to stop being there own supervillain. :P

    Is it good that we don’t get to see the Rock in Kiss Make-Up for 90 minutes? Yes. Yes it is. I like Lobo as a guest star in something, but there’s no way in four hells that movie would bank even with the Rock in the lead. A Lobo movie would go the way of Catwoman, Jonah Hex and Steel (yeah, that happened).

    At this point it’s all been said. WB can keep churning out all the CW shows all they like. Seems like that’s about all they know how to do. Hope they prove me wrong at some point.
