Megan Fox Lands the Lead in ‘Ninja Turtles’

I guess Michael Bay and Megan Fox sorted out they’re shit, because she has just been cast as April O’Neil in Ninja Turtles. Bay is only producing, so they won’t have nearly as much interaction as they did on the Transformers films.

Here’s my question: What does Fox’s being cast tell you about this film?

I’ll try to be gentle, so let’s just say while Fox is fun to look at, I’m not a huge fan of her acting ability. I mean, didn’t she get the part in Transformers because Bay thought she had a nice stomach?

Other actresses up for the role were Jane Levy, Anna Kendrick and Elizabeth Olsen. Personally I would have liked for Gemma Arterton to be cast, but no one ever listens to me.

On the upside, we’ll get to see Fox as a redhead.

Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans, Battle: Los Angeles) is directing with Bay producing through hi Platinum Dunes.

    I’m not a fan of hers but this isn’t a deal breaker at all for me, Don’t see why she can’t play a young inexperienced April. It’s Bay’s involvement that has me worried. Never enjoyed a single film of his and only watched one of his movies from start to finish.

    The new TV series is pretty great, mostly! The
    Turtles themselves have nailed it design wise, and voice actors from
    that show should voice this movie.

    However Fox as April O Neil? Its Aprils hair that is orange not her skin!!!

    My pick woulda been Isla Fisher, or Emma Stone. (Obvious choices from
    anyone that knows the Turtles, Fox is the exact opposite of what April
    should be. (Though the original (amazing) 1990 movie had an April O Neil
    I just couldn’t beat off to.

    The stars of the show however should be the Turtles themselves. They
    were brilliant in the80s toon, Amazing 90s films, even the TMNT cg movie
    and this new CG cartoon too. The Turtles were perfect. No need to
    change things up by making them Aliens!! Though I do hope we have the
    Alien influence, ie the ooze and Krang and the Technodrome.

    ps, Since they had a fall out before, whats not to say that it could happen again meaning that future Turtles sequels might end up with a recast of April. I hate films that recast an actor, especially when the original is still alive! Look at Rachel Dawes in TDK!

    Well, they messed up the origin, might as well mess up the casting and acting talent. I guess they will cast Taylor Lautner as Casey Jones.

    I had the tiniest sliver of hope, deep in the darkest abyss of my tattered heart for this movie. Only because the Turtles of course. Now, I would like to apologize to the Turtles behalf of the little children in our hearts. Unless, a sex scene with a fully naked Megan Fox is being gang bang by our loving Turtles is shown. THIS IS FOREVER DOOMED! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

    Of course Bay would do that. I would’ve much rather seen Kendrick, Olsen (both who are more suited for the role) or even Levy (so she could get a big budget film under her belt).
