With the huge influx of characters and the temporal as well as physical scope of the story, “X-Men: Days of Future Past,” seems akin to the great Grecian Epics Hollywood produced in its golden era. While fans of the X-Franchise keep speculation at a fever pitch, director Bryan Singer continues to hint at the grandeur of said movie.

It has been rumored that the time-traveling aspect will in some way affect events from Brett Ratner’s “X-Men 3,” particularly with the ignominious deaths of two iconic characters. When questioned about their return, Singer says: “Who wouldn’t? Who wouldn’t? [Laughing] That’s all I can say.” On the topic of possible alterations to the third film through “Days of Future Past,” Singer responds: “You mean, what you’re politely saying is, “fix s**t.” Is that what you’re saying? That’s what I’m hearing. [Laughing].” He continues, saying: “There’s going to be a little of that, a few things I can repair.” He believes that the changes made will be a hit with fans.

The success of “The Avengers” will probably have a hand in how this movie will be made, the director says. “It’s just something we’re thinking about. Really my big focus was this movie. Because it’s really massive, and we’re going to start shooting soon. But we’re talking, [producer] Lauren Shuler Donner and I, and we’ll see.” Time will tell if we’ll be able to see the X-Men linking arms with Spidey and the Fantastic Four.

As for casting, Singer promises there will be more in the roster. As for Peter Dinklage, he will definitely not be Wolverine’s drinking buddy Puck. The director shot down rumors of this as well as the belief that he will be CGI-enhanced. “He’s not going to be a CGI character… It’s not a shy character. He’s just such a phenomenal actor; I’m a huge fan of Peter’s and Game of Thrones. He was my first choice and I was really happy [about the casting].”

“Days of Future Past” will be released July 2014.
