Bryan Singer Talks X-Men and the Return of Nightcrawler?

3054F-1000x1000I really can’t express how happy I am that Bryan Singer has returned to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past. Don’t get me wrong, Matthew Vaughn did a killer job with X-Men: First Class helping the franchise to fully recover from the disaster of X-Men: The Last Stand, but if Vaughn can’t (or won’t) return then there’s no one better than Singer. X2: X-Men United is still my favorite of the series.

We all know Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and Jennifer Lawrence are returning, but given the time traveling/multi-verse nature of Future Past‘s plot, we weren’t sure if anyone else would be returning. Fortunately for us Singer is also bringing back Ian McKellan, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Ellen Page and even Shawn Ashmore, but who else could be back? Also fortunate for us, The Huffington Post was thinking the same thing and asked Singer during an interview.

Will we ever see Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler again?
I don’t know. We’ll see. You know … we’ll see.

That sounded coy.
[Laughs] Yeah, I know. I don’t want to … sometimes you don’t want to say “yes” or “no” to something that may not be a “yes” or a “no,” or anything. I haven’t decided yet, a few things. I’m still, you know — there are certain aspects of the script that I’m still toying with.

As a fan of that character, that at least gives me hope.
[Laughs] OK.

What do you think? Do you want Cumming returning as Nightcrawler? Are there too many mutants in this flick?

In order to be on point with the comic series it’s being adapted from he would at least have to be in the beginning.

MR. EUBENS CLASS SUCKS! I took Mr. Eubens class at Northen Adirondak Community College and it was annoying. Gregory Euben’s lectures on Jesus Christ and the bible were so controversal that a redheaded girl in my class threw her shoe at him, honestly who throws a shoe?

This movie is going to make me want an X-Men 4 I just know it! Maybe Singer can do X-Men 4 and the first Director of First Class can come back for the third entry in the prequel series?

may i ask what this has to do with a Mr. Euben? I went back and read the article a few times, and I can’t find a mention.

  • Nightcrawler

Weird, that was exactly what I was thinking.

I don’t know what the hell that first post was all about, but your screen name is hilarious.

The minute Aronofsky left “The Wolverine” I gave up on seeing a truly great adaptation of ANYTHING X-Men related in my lifetime. That’s not to say I would be angry if I were proven wrong.
