Star Wars is gearing up for a fresh batch of films that will litter all across the cinematic pop culture landscape. But, while this vision of the future gets all the breaks like a favorite child, what will happen to the prehistoric past?
Frank Marshall, who has produced such films as “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” “Back to the Future,” and “Empire of the Sun,” has revealed what part Kathleen Kennedy will play for “Jurassic Park 4.” Responding to a Twitter question, Marshall says:
“No, Ms. Kennedy has moved onto Star Wars and will not be producing JP4. She’s traded raptors for TIE fighters.”
There doesn’t seem much to go on with this new “Jurassic Park 4” feature whose installments have become weaker since its original progenitor. But, it looks like the intergalactic pull of the Disney/Star Wars Universe is leaving the land of dinosaurs a lot emptier.
With Kennedy out, it remains to be seen if “JP4” can remain on schedule for a June 2014 release or just like the real dinosaurs, it would be better left on ice.
