A new banner (seen above) and poster (below) for the 300 prequel 300: Rise of an Empire has surfaced from Stark Industries.
The film stars: Sullivan Stapleton, Eva Green, Lena Headey, Hans Matheson, Rodrigo Santoro, David Wenham, Igal Naor, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell, Andrew Tiernan.
Most of the actors are not household names, though most will recognize actor Rodrigo Santoro, who returns as Xerxes. The unknown cast may turn out to be for the best. Gerard Butler wasn’t a household name before 300 came out. Maybe a new star will deliver a line as captivating as: “THIS…IS…SPARTA.”
Actor Santora (who plays Xerxes) previously commented on the film, saying:
“I didn’t see the movie yet, the final result, but the experience — I mean, Zack was pretty much involved because he wrote it and he’s producing it. His hands are there, but Noam will have his own take on directing it. I think it’s going to be pretty awesome, and the fans are going to be pleased.”
Directed by Noam Murro who Murro previously directed Dennis Quaid and Ellen Page in 2008 film Smart People.
Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes” and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. “300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
