A New Patriotic ‘Man Of Steel’ Photo

Man of Steel2

Check out this new patriotic photo from Man Of Steel.

Synopsis:

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.

Man of Steel hits theatres June 14th.

I hope they don’t go too patriotic with this version of superman, not that I am anti-american and such, but superman is more of the adopted son of earth, not just USA, just saying …

all i see is product placement

Completely agree. Just give us some great Superman action without all the U.S.A. patriotism talk and this movie should be fine.

  • sircadlab

No supes movie has had “USA patriotism talk” and to utter such gibberish says something about “phobia”…

Truth. Justice. And the American way motherfuckers. Sure he’s an alien who becomes earth’s defender but his upbringing is 100% American. Although I don’t think they’ll go overboard with the patriotism, it is a part of his character.

It’s a messiah story. The man who could be god serving the people.
Intrinsically it is patriotic… no stopping that. Power to the
people is part of superman or he’d just build a house on a mountain
and have the world bring him sassy reporter chicks. Patriotism seems
like a lame sentiment because of the way it’s used to manipulate.
That doesn’t change the definition of the word. The US has most of
the military might of the world. What the US has done with that power
is a reflection of the voting public. If there’s blood on the flag
it’s on the hands of it’s voting citizens. Superman fights tyrannical
control. If the average citizen did this, lives all over the world
could be saved. Put the man in front of the flag… twice…

    Er… what he said.

Nothing really goes together in this pic. American flag. Superman -> Krypton. Henry Cavill -> the UK. 7 Eleven -> Pakistan.

Like Chris Evans in Captain America and The Avengers, Henry Cavill is losing his hair big time. The wig Chris Evans wears is pretty good, so maybe when Henry has no more hair they will get a good hair piece for him too!

you literally defined TRUE americans.. just saying
