Is The ‘Tarzan’ Film Dying A Slow And Painful Death?

Tarzan

Deadline reports that the Tarzan film, which was set to be directed by David Yates (Harry Potter Series) and star Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood) and possibly Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) might be in limbo.

According to Deadline, plans to make the film this year have been shut down and they are shuttering the production office. Deadline speculates that the budget may have been higher than the studio wanted it to be. Jamie Foxx was circulating the third lead role but hadn’t yet been signed.

The studio is expected to try to make the movie happen again in 2014 with David Yates still directing. This is discomforting news for fans of the film, who for years, have watched in agony as Warner Bros has tried and failed to make the film happen.

Good. This didn’t need to be made and would have lost money.

Jamie Foxx? Whoever suggested him is an idiot.

Was looking forward to this! Tarzan has so much potential if done right. Deepest darkest Africa, pygmie tribes etc.. could have been a real epic jungle adventure.
