Warner Bros Acquires Rights To Dungeons & Dragons Board Game ‘Chainmail’

Deadline reports that Warner Bros has acquired the rights to make a Dungeons & Dragons movie based on the board game Chainmail.

Deadline says that the project is moving along nicely and will use a script by David Leslie Johnson (Orphan, Wrath Of The Titans).

The new film in the Dungeons & Dragons universe will be co-produced by Courtney Solomon.

Solomon directed Dungeons & Dragons in 2000, starring Marlon Wayans and Jeremy Irons.

    I’ll pass. D&D movies are born to be straight to DVD, however fun the game may be.

    Warner Bros.: Must write in wacky but lovable black guy who always runs off chasing tail and gets himself into jams for his friends to deal with. Great stuff. Crowds flock to that, and ass-chasing black guys always make minorities feel more like they’re part of the movie.
