I have a bad feeling that this movie will not accomplish anything except try to fix everything that went wrong in “Last Stand”. Which is fine I guess but that takes away from being able to provide a fresh new story that will take the franchise in a new and great direction. I mean think about it, if they some how change what happened in Last stand, then where does the first class cast go when the original cast is back??? Im really skeptical of what Singer is going to do to these movies.

    Juno, great.

Ellen Page has looked about 15 for like the last 10 years.

Bryan Singer is the worse thing to happen to the X-Men. He just wont stop changing shit. Changes that don’t even NEED to be made. Charles and Mystique are friends? Juggernaut and Charles, step brothers, don’t even look at each other? Mystique & Nightcrawler (Mother and Son) don’t even shake hands? Charles has hair? Phoenix isn’t an alien being but just Jean Grey on her period? Storm looking like a cast member of Clueless the TV show? Rogue is an 11 year old girl? Cyclops’ younger brother Havoc is Cyclops’ “relative” in 1962? Just unnecessary alterations. I cringe every single time I see anything X-Men film related. Disney should order a hit on Bryan Singer and that damn Donner woman, and get these titles over to Marvel. Bryan Singer has never read a single X-Men book in his life, nor have the writers. They scroll down a list on Wikipedia and just come up with something and put them in these movies. Yes, I ranted, and I don’t give seven damns about it. I HATE Bryan Singer. That is all.

Agreed! She will age gracefully until she has her first kid.

    Hello Kitty, how’s Iceman?

You are generalizing in the worst way. “Jean Grey on her period”, “Rogue as an 11 year old girl”…get real man.

most of the first class cast isnt in this film sadly. fucking singer.

  • KaiChen

Singer had littele to do with X# and First Class but a title.

Blame him for X1 and X2.

  • KaiChen

I was hoping for a First Class sequel.

Unfortunately, will get an X-Men #: The Last Stand sequel.

And out of all the stories they had to use the most iconic one!?!?!

I am so deeply saddened by the direction this film has been taking.

  • Xmasevebaby

FOX needs to give us a teaser trailer that ends with Logan and Kitty backed up against a brick wall that directly invokes John Byrne’s classic X-Men cover. Fanboys will absolutely $#!+ themselves!

  • Quack!

It would be cool if the X-men’s mission was to go back in time and prevent Brett Ratner from becoming a director.

  • Quack!

    I gotta say, I LOVED X-men 2.

  • ArtRoundaboutMailbox

His fingerprints were all over First Class. Just like this Days of Future Past crap.

That would be awesome! Lets hope Fox marketing team recreates the classic cover as one of the teaser posters. Would be a really smart decision

Too bad we’ll never get to see Lockheed.

Singer’s comic flix are simply boring. X1, X2, and Superman Returns, for example, are dreary and dull. At least Ratner tried to shake things up a bit.

  • jamthemaj

no offense, but you’re a whiney fanboy. i’m also a fan; i grew up with these comics and cartoons. the difference is i don’t care if they make changes from the source material so long as they stay true to the essence of the world and characters. X1, X2 and First Class did just that. I love those movies! now i will agree that x3 and wolverine sucked donkey balls, but that was due to brett ratner on one and shoddy writing on both. i can’t wait for days of future past!

  • jamthemaj

most of the first class cast is in this film, and they have said time and time again that the story will focus on the first class characters. the actors from singer’s first 2 x flicks only have small roles.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Carlitos-Becerra/818105493 Carlitos Becerra

this is days of future past, the main character of that story arc was kitty pryde so i dont think the first class people will be major characters. And only 4 actors from first class are in the sequel the rest of the cast is everyone from the original trilogy.

  • jamthemaj

yes in the comics she is the main character. this is a movie adaptation of the comics. i’m sure kitty will play an integral role, but again, they said that the old casts’ roles are basically cameos, except for wolverine. this is still first class 2, and they have the prominent roles.

Most of the film takes place in 1973. look it up!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Carlitos-Becerra/818105493 Carlitos Becerra

they say many things to please fans and to get them to the theatres, just like how Jackman promised we’d be getting the chris claremont story arc for the wolverine…have you seen the trailer? cause he lied. Its just something they do. Again, the entire cast of first class is not in the film except Prof X, Magneto, Beast and Mystique.

  • ArtRoundaboutMailbox

Actually, no offense has been taken because thats exactly what I am. But how is it the “essence” of the world when unnecessary changes are being made? We can’t say the source material shouldnt matter or else they wouldn’t be capitalising off the X-Men name. If they were changes that made it a better movie or made sense..then I’m for it. First Class’ had Magneto paralyse the professor. Obviously not source, but it made some sense. It’s the unnecessary that bothers me. Rogue being younger, Storm being Halle and not Ororo. Truthfully, I think it takes away from future spin offs and leaving a lasting affect.

  • jamthemaj

The source material does matter to these people though. there are years and years worth of source material to draw from. little things like rogue’s age doesn’t matter one bit. they still got the character right in the first 2, even though she hadn’t absorbed ms. marvel’s powers yet. it also didn’t bother me that she fell for iceman and not gambit, because they mixed the old in with the new. no big deal. halle berry is a good actress, but yeah, no accent. but who cares? they didn’t have enough time to delve into every character’s backstory. but we got enough of who they were in that present time, thus the essence of that character rang true. same goes for jean and scott and nightcrawler and mystique and whoever else.

these movies are their own stories. they draw inspiration from the comics, the worlds and the characters, but the stories for the movies are original. that’s what i prefer. so they stay true to the essence of the character and the world, but at the same time make it their own. i like that, and i’m all for it. the movies have to appeal to comic fans and the general public.
take the dark knight rises, for example. the story ends with bruce retired having passed on the torch to john blake. obviously that won’t happen in the comics, but on film it makes perfect sense. i loved that ending and thought it was perfect and fitting for bruce.
    different strokes for different folks!
