Actor Chris Pratt has revealed new information about Rocket Raccoon, who will be voiced by Bradley Cooper in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy. According to Pratt, the critter won’t look like cartoon version, but a “very real creature.”
In an interview with Access Hollywood, Pratt gave a little bit of background information on Rocket Raccoon and praised Cooper for taking on the role.
“[Rocket raccoon has been] tortured his whole life and no one else likes him, so he’s lonely and he’s angry and it’s like, [there are] all these elements [to the character]. You sort of forget about that, you wouldn’t think about, [and] hopefully will come to life. I think it will and that’s why they hired a really good actor to do the role.”
“I could not be more excited that Bradley Cooper is voicing Rocket Raccoon, it’s a great character. It’s probably the best character in the movie, just because it’s not what you would expect.”
So for those of you who were worried about the look of the character, you can rest assure that it won’t be some goofy cartoon critter fighting alongside the real people.
Now, we’re not too concerned with Pratt’s personal life, but during his interview he mentioned something, about himself, that was pretty darn funny. He joked a little about his body, which he really worked on back when he landed the role of Peter Quill. He admitted that he no longer looks like that (with the six-pack and all) and added:
“I don’t want to go crazy and be someone who’s primary focus in life is fitness, life is too short to spend it always trying to work out,” he said. “But at the same time, I want balance… I want to be somewhere in between being super fat and being not super fat and so, just kind of fat, I guess.”
Guardians Of The Galaxy is set to his theaters August 1, 2014.
