For the record, I like Kevin Feige. I personally met him at Comic Con recently in the lobby of the Omni Hotel and he was quite the gentleman. He came up to me and we had a chat. He’s a good guy and he asked me about my health.
There is no denying he is a master showman who rocks the house year in and year out at Comic Con and had the testicular fortitude to put all his heroes and brands together in The Avengers. That alone is revolutionary because all the studios are trying to bite what he did and bring their brands together in a movie.
While in London promoting Thor: The Dark World, Kevin Feige spoke to my boy Mike Ryan over Huffington Post and addressed recent casting rumors.
Concerning Vin Diesel, Kevin Feige said:
He’s made so much news with this, I had to double check this morning to confirm that there still hasn’t been an official announcement that he’s a part of “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
Yeah, I think it’s close. I think it’s close to being official for the Groot character. But, not 100 percent yet.
Concerning Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Kevin Feige said:
Why is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s name always come up when a new Marvel movie is being cast? This has happened three times now.
Well, sometimes it’s because we are legitimately talking, and sometimes it’s just because he’s a prominent actor out there now. And lots of rumors surround prominent actors.
See? Told ya they been trying to get into the Levitt business. Whether it happens with Ant-Man or Doctor Strange remains to be seen. I’ll know soon enough and report back to you guys. ;)
