‘X-Men: Days of Future Past Trailer’ is HERE!!

20th Century Fox has finally released the first trailer for Bryan Singer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” starring Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Shawn Ashmore.

The film will be based on the comic book storyline “Days of Future Past,” which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel’s mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

“X-Men: Days of Future Past” is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2014.

    Holy crap… that’s all I can say.

  • Mad FAdder

INSANE! What is this theme? It sounds like the Kick Ass theme a bit, also a little like the Hans Zimmer theme used in the original Man of Steel trailer that got everyone hyped…but at the same time I feel like I remember hearing that theme (not as dreary) in First Class. Someone help, my nerdisms are getting mixed up :(

  • Jack le Critic

Another “dark” take on the superhero genre…erm, nah, not sold at the moment. However if they’d just given me a glimpse of a Sentinel stomping on Anna Paquin, I might be more interested…

Score form Murphy’s OST on Sunshine,, which he adapted in Kick ass for Hit girl’s great vengeance of Robin. The trailer is nicely edited, except for some interruptions a little to sharp to the eye and the hear. But great synergy between music and image. Please, more Stewart metts McAvoy scenes!

  • Gilesy

    John Murphey’s theme from Sunshine.

  • runner_j

Well, Hugh Jackman’s name is above the title and above everybody else’s. For anybody hoping this won’t be primarily about Wolverine at the expense of everone else, not a good sign.

Aside from that, it certainly looks very cool and atmospheric.

  • Daniel Ronczkowski

    Epic…That’s all I can say.

  • Mario-Francisco Robles

It’s the same music used in “First Class” when Magneto makes the massive satellite move from far away. It sounds a lot like Zimmer’s “Thin Red Line” score, which was used for the Comic Con Man of Steel Teaser.

  • rsixsmith

it’s supposed to be kitty who travels back. but hugh jackman still bills higher than elaine page so… was hoping for a little more, but yeah, looks like it might be cool.

  • John Smith from back East

Welcome back Bryan Singer…we missed you!!!! =]

  • David White

    Terrible trailer. Ugh.

  • Steve Croft

This oughta put out the fires of the doubters…

  • Geoff Breedwell

Is this even considering X3? Unless I missed something, but didn’t Xavier die in X3? Where is this in terms of continuity?

  • MAd Fadder

Cleared this up perfect, along with the post a couple below about the Hit Girl theme adoption. Thanks folks! Always know I can trust my fellow nerds.

  • KaiChen

They’ce already revealed Wolverine will be the one traveling back.

  • Jax Maxton

This looks yawn-tastic! I can’t WAIT to miss this one. **snore**

  • Joseph Chaisson

Meh… It looks like a perfect fit for the uncanny x-force though.

  • b4ucy

“Please…, we need you to hope again” Goosebumps GALORE!!!

  • leeloo5

Yeah, for a trailer that was trying extremely hard to elicit an emotion, I didn’t really feel much of anything towards it. It looks cool, i guess, but I didn’t see anything in here that made me jump out of my seat or was emotionally compelling despite Mr. Murphy’s beautiful SUNSHINE score… I’d like to see some more thought!

  • TheNewNewYorker

Whats the deal with young charles Xavier’s accent at the end

  • tigerface

Something like Adagio on G minor or something, the song was used in the Sunshine soundtrack, not sure if it was written specifically for it.

  • rsixsmith

yep. just explaining to the guy above why there’s no way that an x-movie featuring hugh jackman will ever center the plot around anyone but wolverine.

Bryan singer hints at the end credit scene of X3.. and some powerful mutants at the pref conference at comicon.. and that hes “alive for the moment”

  • FassbendersRazzieSpeech

So the only thing they take from the comic is the freakin title…….

  • moviefan123

Wolverine is an essential part of the Days of Future Past storyline in the comics so the fact that there would be a heavy focus on him in the movie is not surprising.

  • Redbull Werewolf

I think he was trying to sound like Patrick Stewart. First class seemed to consaider itse;f a reboot so they didn’t really try to ape the actors that had come before (or even some continuity that had come before) But Once it was learned that the older actors wanted back in They now have to try and make first class more like a prequel. I’m really surprised They didn’t shave his head

  • rsixsmith

that’s absolutely true, but it doesn’t speak to my point. why can’t kitty retain her place in the story? why is it so important that it be wolverine who travels back? maybe there will actually be a logical reason within the established movie universe, but my gut tells me that won’t be the case.

  • moviefan123

I agree I am a big fan of Kitty as a character in the comics and Ellen Page is one of my favorite actresses so I am bit dissapointed too. But as it generally goes with the X-Men movies the rest of the population is going to see the trailer say “I love Wolverine and Hugh Jackman!” and then the movie will make millions of dollars. If they made it Ellen Page/Kitty focused most people would just say isn’t that the girl from Inception?

  • Geoff Breedwell

“Alive for the moment,” totally seems like a cop out. It’s a terrible plot hole when my WIFE notices it from the trailer.

  • rsixsmith

i think people could handle it.

  • myclawismypenis

Good, good. Let them go for it!

  • David White’s Mom

Just looked through all of your comments. 95% negative, bullshit comments. I wouldnt even call the other 5% positive. Textbook troll. Go die.

  • Brad Bishop

well wolverine has metal claws, hope thats explained? considering this takes place in 70s before he got adamantium …

  • David White

lol! Still alive baby girl! Suck a dick!

  • Mr. Jefferson

    Da f^ck I just watch?

  • sunnavab

Felt more compelled by Cap than this. Bryan singer was good (operative word here is “was”), but I don’t think he was ever a good fit for X-Men. First one was meh with some decent parts thrown in, second one was better but still not great. He should have left the X-series in more capable hands. First Class did just fine without him. Just my two cents.

  • sunnavab

never read the comics did you?

  • Brad Bishop

yes but since when have these movies actually even been relatively close the comics? I seriously doubt Magneto puts adamantium back into wolverines arms. If youve seen the Wolverine the latest movie then youll understand that he loses his adamantium claws. The time of this movie takes place in the 70s he didnt get his metal till the 80s even in the movies & in the trailer it shows him with metal claws so thats my point.

  • Henry_Swansons_my_name

We’ll it is a time travel film, so anything is possible. I’ve heard theories that Bryan Singer is “undoing” X3 with this film and effectively removing it from the timeline. But he’s a thoughtful filmmaker, so I’d wager he’s not ignoring X3 plot points, but rather finding a clever way to connect this film to his previous X-Men films (and finding a clever way to bring Xavier back to life!)

Why don’t we just wait and watch the movie before all the hating! All this shit gets old!
