Sony Pictures has released the full trailer for their upcoming sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The sequel stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Campbell Scott, Embeth Davidtz, Colm Feore, Paul Giamatti, and Sally Field.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinkner.

Check out the new full trailer below.

We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.

It’s safe to say that this looks kinda busy…. I just hope they don’t fall into the same trap as Raimi’s threequel..

  • Au5t1n

Doc Oc’s and Vultures gear in their as well!! What else can they cram in.

  • Brian Knockin

    Lookin good so far

  • Steve Croft

To be fair, these badguys look like they compliment each other. Raimis, they didn’t really fit together well at all, yet these guys, Rhino brute force on land, Electro keeping him busy and Goblin attacking him from the air? A good combination in my books, plus chances are its Dehaan as Proto/Hob Goblin anyhow with the real Green Goblin showing up in part 3 I’d say. Hopefully. Looks like they’re building up to a Sinister Six movie, which is just beautiful :D

  • Gustavo Corrêa

Oscorp is the headquarter of evil in this franchise. Everything wrong in this world is there

  • rsixsmith

yeah, looks like there’s lots going on. nothing that made me at all upset, though. harry and norman are still the only characters in this movie- that i’ve seen so far- that have f**k-upable story lines. unless they’re gonna try super hard to make me care about rhino, which would be a waste of time.

  • FassbendersRazzieSpeech

The trailers looks cluster fuckish. I saw the russian bootleg the other day. I see they hide Ed209 as much as possible. Harry as the billyidol goblin……. djeezes- Ill wait for the dvd version to come online. I cant keep funding this shit-

    Just my opinion mind you-.

If they had just not called it “Amazing Spider-man” maybe fans of those books wouldnt be upset with this Ultimates / Spectacular / Whatever takes on characters .

  • puddintain

I refuse to watch a @#@$ commercial for the privilege of watching another commercial– even if that “other commercial” is the highly anticipated trailer for Spiderman 2.
There are plenty of sites that offer the trailer sans commercial, I wish this one were one of them.

  • Vegas82

    I didn’t get a commercial, but then again I run AdBlock…

  • Nouprep

Doesnt look too bad except for Jaime Fox’s horrible acting.

  • Chris Groves

Incredibly under-whelmed. Bloated and ‘cartoony’ come to mind. I’m getting a serious ‘Batman and Robin’ vibe from it. Just as The Amazing Spider-Man tried to mimic the ‘dark and realistic’ style of The Dark Knight to no avail…I feel that this is Sony’s knee-jerk reaction to The Avengers, saying ‘we can be big, epic and colorful as well’….but I feel it will again be a letdown.

  • comicbookmoviefan

Even if this movie is absolutely terrible I have already seen the best Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man 2. I grew up reading the comics and that movie was everything that I ever wanted to see from a Spider-Man movie. Yes I know that Spider-Man 3 sucked but that should never affect how good the first two were.

  • Aj Beamish

Is it just me or does the web slinging look terrible? The effects look like third rate CGI work. I hope they can clean that up better.

  • Scott West

Looks like its running to something big and im just fine with what the changes is I think. Im just fine with changes to the comic story because who wants to read about it then watch the same thing on a cartoon and then watch the same thing in a movie. In some cases even a TV show is tossed in there somewhere. Mix things up and add what if it went this way you sometimes get a god movie. I just hope it is one.:)

  • Joseph Chaisson

It looks lame. All eye candy zero substance.

  • CarloswithaK

Some of you complain too much.. especially about the most silliest things. :P I don’t mind all the color and epic-ness that is going on. In fact, I actually like it a lot. Spider-Man is not like Batman as in terms of being “dark and realistic,” on the other hand, Spider-Man is epic and colorful. Look at all his adversaries over the years… they are big, epic, fantastic and let’s be honest.. colorful! So what’s the big deal? Also, if you look back at the many comics and cartoon series, it was never odd seeing 2-3 bad guys go up against Spidey. I think it totally works! This version of Spider-Man, just as Raimi’s is just another interpretation of the story, an artistic expression of someone’s vision of Spider-Man perhaps. Just as in the comic and animated world, you will see that in time there will be many incarnations of Spider-Man done on the big screen. This just happens to be Marc Webb’s version. There will be plenty more stories and opportunities to explore, it’s not the end of the world people. ;) So lighten up! It’s just a movie.

  • rsixsmith

well, okay, but if it DOES suck, just like some of the comics, THEN it’s open season on crap. like sm3. but i agree, i love the color palette here. i think it’s pretty obvious the the sfx will be cleaned up and sharpened by the time it’s released.

  • Shaun Patrick O’Rourke

I didn’t see the last one because I felt it was to soon for a reboot, and I can get past the neck on the lead actor. Honestly, I didn’t have to because the trailer gave everything away. They once again have given everything away including most of the money shots in the film in this trailer. I don’t understand the reasoning of giving it all away marketing. “Gravity” was a great example of teasing the audience with a very puzzling marketing campaign with multiple teasers, and $500 million later it worked. Why can’t the Comic book films do the same?

  • rsixsmith

i felt the same way about toby maguire’s double chin.

  • The__Usual_Suspect

Feel slightly better about it…but I think that’s because I saw more Spider-Man footage and I love his suit.

  • Jesus_Slade

If I wanted to watch a CGI film, Finding Nemo on Blue Ray!
    In 3D
    Using the Force!
    With magic popcorn!

This sucks ass and no money from me!
    Shame! I like Spidy!

  • Rusty Elbows

Now THIS looks like a comic book movie.

  • Rusty Elbows

    What do you mean?
Comic Movies have always had ‘Easter eggs’ in them.
Man of Steel, Thor, Iron Man, Avengers, I mean, haven’t you noticed this?
Why is it surprising to see a brief shot of gear for Vulture and Doc Oc?

It’s about as weird as seeing the Infinity Gauntlet in Thor, Lexcorp, Star Labs, or Wayne Enterprises logos in Man of Steel, Thanos at the end of The Avengers, or Thor’s hammer and Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man. It’s nothing new.

  • J242

I think this could be very well done if handled the right way. Namely in that Rhino = petty, small time thug who gets busted early by SM. Set-up has Harry behind the scenes setting up what leads to Electro’s creation and the big Rhino mech suit and is working against SM the entire time with him only being shown as the Goblin near the end with him getting away (possibly Electro as well). Would set up Sinister Six well and wouldn’t be nearly “as” forced together.

  • Howzah123

Let’s go to the movies and watch a video game!

  • Geoff Breedwell

    sooooooooooooooooo excited!!!

  • Tavaris M Johnson

    Still so so about it

  • Jesse Wilks

Because the way to sell people on a superhero movie in a 2-minute trailer is to show “substance.” Maybe 30 second of Spider-Man crying? Maybe spoil all of the dramatic beats of the film? They gave weight to the story referencing Spidey’s classic “responsibility” struggle and set up the truth about his parents and how that brings him into conflict with the Osborns. This isn’t substance? Go back to your “Karven” comics, you’re obviously an expert.

  • Jesse Wilks

Because if the filmmakers try to surprise audiences, then spies and sites like this one spend every waking moment trying to uncover the surprises and they end up having to lie, at which point everyone gets upset with them. Don’t pretend like you actually want to be surprised, if you chose this site to view the trailer. If you want to be surprised, wait until the move is out and go see it.

  • Shaun Patrick O’Rourke

    Point taken.

  • Joseph Chaisson

Look at Iron Man, Iron Man 3, Captain America, Nolan’s batman films, Man of Steel. all of these had substance over, let’s just give the audience flashy color and a bunch of loud noise. If you like mindless drone trailers that end up being a waste of film go ahead. But people who respect spider-man should be not happy with this.

Commercial? I never get those from trailers in here. Maybe you should look into some ad-blocking software.

  • Jesse Wilks

People who “respect Spider-man” should probably know the difference between “Kraven” and “Karven” Just sayin’.

  • Paxton

Someone needs to hire these guys for the next Spiderman movie. Check out the final dismount:

  • sunshine

hmmm… you could be right about that…

  • sunshine

iron man 3 was the stupidest thing i’ve ever seen, but i’ll agree with you on the rest.

  • CarloswithaK

I totally agree! Not until the movie is release and proves to be good or not can we really start complaining. Besides, complaining is good sometimes.. that’s how we got the reboot “Man of Steel” right? :-P
